Assistant Store Manager - Roark Retail, Irvine

About the role

Roark, an adventure lifestyle brand owned by Archipelago Cos, is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its Irvine store. The ASM partners with the Store Manager on all aspects of business operations, manages the guest experience, operations, customer flow, staff and floor inventory, and leads the floor team in delivering welcoming, helpful customer service. Open availability is a must.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in growing revenue through sales, employee relations and operations aligned with Roark's culture and retail principles, and help meet the financial plan, payroll budget and store P&L.
• Manage product flow, restocking, back-of-house operations, supply needs and daily store maintenance, and uphold visual merchandising standards.
• Act as a product expert, understand customer needs and guide customers to suitable products.
• Oversee cash wrap and POS procedures, reconcile tills, and process returns, exchanges, gift cards and discounts accurately.
• Help supervise the store team, including recruiting, hiring, training and career development, and support daily scheduling and zoning.
• Motivate staff, coach them on product and selling techniques, and help with performance check-ins.
• Take part in store events and help seek local collaborations with brands, artists, musicians and athletes.
