Assistant Store Manager - Melin, Whalers Village

About the role

Archipelago Cos is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for a melin store in Whalers Village, Lahaina. The Assistant Store Manager leads the store team and partners with the Store Manager to deliver an exceptional guest experience, while also handling opening and closing, operations, inventory and the POS system.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to drive sales through a premium guest experience, coach sales staff and run an effective operational system aligned with melin's culture.
• Manage product flow, back-of-house operations, supply needs and daily store maintenance.
• Help with staff hiring, onboarding and training, and support marketing event activations.
• Carry out seasonal floor sets and visual merchandising, keeping brand image consistent.
• Act as product expert, coach staff on product knowledge and selling techniques, and stay aware of competitors.
• Handle POS issues, reconcile tills, process returns, exchanges, gift cards and discounts.
• Open and close the store independently, and help manage schedules, time off, breaks and cover swaps.
• Support employee relations, performance check-ins and recruit, hire and develop staff.
• Merchandise and re-merchandise the store, help with monthly cycle counts, restocking and receiving, and place fill orders.
• Support store events and help conceive and run at least one unique event per quarter.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of retail experience and 1 year of management experience.
• College degree is a plus.
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
• Able to take on store manager responsibilities in the manager's absence.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and use ladders or stairs.
