Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology – Corneal & Refractive Surgery

About the role

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding and seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology specializing in corneal and refractive surgery. This full‑time faculty position combines patient care, teaching, and research within a leading academic eye institute.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical and surgical ophthalmology services, including corneal and refractive procedures, according to service rotations and call schedules.
• Educate residents and medical students, participating in lectures, rounds, and clinical mentorship.
• Develop and maintain referral and educational relationships across the University of Miami Health System and external practices.
• Lead and contribute to translational research, clinical trials, and quality‑assurance initiatives.
• Participate in departmental committees, CME activities, and occasional satellite clinic coverage.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible ophthalmologist with expertise in corneal and refractive surgery.
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and scholarly activity.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and represent the department professionally.
