Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine – Transplant Cardiology

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor in the Clinical/Educator pathway within the Cardiovascular Division of the Department of Medicine. The role is based at the Miller School of Medicine’s Miami Transplant Institute and focuses on advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation.

Key responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient evaluation of patients referred for transplant assessment.
• Post‑transplant care, ventricular assist device (VAD) management, and long‑term follow‑up of advanced heart‑failure patients.
• Perform endomyocardial biopsies and cardiac catheterizations.
• Conduct research and provide teaching in cardiovascular medicine.

Required profile

• MD degree from an accredited institution (or foreign equivalent).
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
• Board‑certified/board‑eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases and Advanced Heart Failure.
• Completed an Advanced Fellowship in Heart Failure.
