Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Gastroenterology

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine, specializing in Gastroenterology. This faculty position involves direct patient care, teaching, and advanced endoscopic services across UHealth locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an outpatient clinical practice at UHealth sites, UHealth Towers, and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
• Perform core and non‑core endoscopic procedures for gastroenterology patients.
• Manage outpatient clinic schedules and provide night/weekend call coverage proportionate to other faculty.
• Participate in inpatient teaching services and advanced endoscopic call duties.

Required profile

• MD degree with ACGME‑accredited internal medicine internship and residency.
• Completed three‑year ACGME gastroenterology fellowship.
• One‑year non‑ACGME advanced endoscopy fellowship.
• Board‑certified/board‑eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligibility) and valid DEA licensure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in core and advanced endoscopic techniques.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Ability to maintain CME requirements for licensing.
