Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology & Pain Management

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is expanding and seeks an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology. This full‑time faculty position involves clinical care, teaching, and participation in departmental academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services for a broad range of cases including orthopedics, gynecology, community obstetrics, abdominal surgery, general vascular procedures, and kidney transplants.
• Supervise and mentor residents, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), and Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs).
• Perform solo cases when required and contribute to on‑call coverage (3‑4 overnight calls per month, with occasional evening or weekend calls).
• Engage in teaching, curriculum development, and departmental conferences and meetings.

Required profile

• Completion of a US‑approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology (equivalence may be considered case‑by‑case).
• Research experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to supervise trainees and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
