Assistant Professor & Medical Director – Cancer Survivorship

About the role

The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine – Cancer Survivorship at the University of Miami is seeking an Assistant Professor on the clinical track to serve as Medical Director. This faculty position combines patient care, leadership, and education within a multidisciplinary cancer survivorship program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct outpatient care to adult internal medicine patients across multiple clinical sites.
• Serve as a ward attending on General Internal Medicine inpatient units.
• Deliver inpatient medical consultation services.
• Precept residents in outpatient continuity clinics and contribute to medical student and resident education.
• Collaborate with UHealth leadership on patient‑care initiatives and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
• MD or DO degree from an ABIM‑recognized internal medicine residency program.
• Unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Commitment to maintaining CME requirements and meeting institutional licensing standards.
• Strong clinical knowledge, interpersonal communication skills, and ability to fulfill faculty responsibilities.
• Experience in academic teaching is highly desired.
