About the role

The School of Public and Allied Health at Prairie View A&M University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Sciences to teach, conduct research, and provide student mentorship.

Key responsibilities

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses and develop new curriculum aligned with program needs.
Supervise student projects, internships, and independent studies.
Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer‑reviewed publications and pursue external funding.
Advise and mentor students in academic planning, research, and professional development.
Participate in program assessment, accreditation, curriculum development, and serve on departmental and university committees.

Required profile

Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Health Sciences or a closely related discipline.
At least two years of college or university teaching experience (three years preferred).
Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency with technology‑enhanced teaching.
Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research and obtain external funding.
