Assistant Procurement Manager

About the role

Join APM Terminals Elizabeth as an Assistant Procurement Manager, supporting end‑to‑end procurement for services, supplies, inventory and equipment at one of North America’s busiest port complexes.

Key responsibilities

• Support sourcing and tendering activities, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, supplier selection and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, HSSE and Supply Chain to forecast spend, align procurement initiatives and ensure timely, cost‑effective purchasing.
• Develop and maintain procurement analytics such as spend reporting, category analysis, vendor performance tracking and Total Cost of Ownership modelling.
• Manage supplier relationships, onboarding, contract compliance monitoring and performance evaluation across quality, delivery and cost metrics.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing, payment and reconciliation issues and support governance, risk management and digital procurement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement, sourcing or supply‑chain experience, preferably in logistics, industrial operations or terminal environments.
• Strong analytical capability with experience handling spend data, cost models, supplier benchmarking and savings initiatives.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced terminal environment.
• Eligibility to obtain or renew a Port Access Card and DHS‑approved TWIC card.

Required skills

• Experience with procurement lifecycle management, contract management and vendor management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and e‑tendering platforms.
• Proficiency in procurement analytics and reporting tools.
