Assistant Nurse Manager – Operating Room

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in the Operating Room at Florida Weston Hospital works night shifts to supervise clinical operations, ensure safe surgical care, and drive quality improvements. This position offers a pathway to extensive leadership experience within a top‑ranked health system.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily unit clinical operations and patient care.
• Facilitate communication among caregivers, other departments, and ensure continuity of patient information across shifts.
• Manage patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and address operational issues.
• Conduct clinical evaluations, provide performance counseling, and handle corrective actions.
• Interview, select, orient, and schedule new caregivers to maintain adequate coverage.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, research initiatives, and assume Nurse Manager duties when absent.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in an Operating Room.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge, strong communication skills, and ability to work night shifts with on‑call duties.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• RN licensure and active registration in Florida.
• Proficiency in operating‑room procedures and equipment.
