Assistant Nurse Manager – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at Florida Weston Hospital provides clinical supervision and unit coordination during night shifts. This position supports patient‑centered care, staff development, and operational efficiency in a high‑acuity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments.
• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, transfers and resolve operational issues.
• Review major patient‑care concerns with Nurse Managers and ensure continuity of information between shifts.
• Conduct clinical evaluations, counsel staff on performance, and manage attendance and corrective actions.
• Interview, select, orient and supervise new caregivers.
• Prepare work schedules to guarantee adequate coverage for all shifts.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Analytical and organizational abilities.
