Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando is looking for a detail-oriented, service-driven Assistant Manager of Laundry to support the Laundry Manager in running efficient, clean and high-quality laundry operations. The role leads by example and guides a team that delivers impeccable linen and garment care for guests and the property. It sits within Lakewood Regional Support, which covers Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and Communications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily laundry operations, including washing, drying and finishing processes
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs promptly
• Ensure proper handling and care of linens, uniforms and guest items, and inspect finished products for cleanliness and quality
• Take corrective action when standards are not met and maintain accurate production and inventory records
• Supervise laundry attendants during shifts, give on-the-job guidance and reinforce safety and operational standards
• Assist with scheduling and timekeeping as directed by the Manager, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Support emergency response protocols when needed and maintain required certifications and training
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous experience in laundry operations or housekeeping preferred
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and flexible shifts
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods and perform bending, kneeling and pushing/pulling
• Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply

Required skills

• Knowledge of laundry equipment and chemical handling is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
