Assistant General Manager - San Francisco (South Bay)

About the role

Equinox, a luxury health, wellness and hospitality operator, is hiring an Assistant General Manager for its San Francisco (South Bay) club, based in Palo Alto, California. The role works alongside the General Manager to run the club's operations, with flexible schedules depending on business needs and openness to location reassignments.

Key responsibilities

• Influence and inspire the team, and interview, hire, train and manage the Front Desk, Maintenance and Kids' club departments to meet brand standards, helping them develop schedules and stay within payroll budgets
• Complete staff performance evaluations monthly and annually
• Follow the monthly ordering timeline and supply budgets
• Deliver a high level of customer service to club members
• Support ancillary departments and sales with the General Manager, and stay aware of monthly departmental goals and projections
• Keep the club clean to company standards and ensure Risk Management and Loss Prevention procedures are followed, monitoring safety and security
• Help facilitate other projects or responsibilities delegated by the General Manager

Required profile

• Proven leadership ability with 1-3 years of management experience in an operational management industry
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Open to location reassignments and able to work flexible schedules
• Able to lift 25 pounds and move around the facility all day
• Legal right to work in the United States

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High-touch customer service experience preferred
• Effective time management and follow-up skills
• Financial management experience
