Assistant General Manager, San Fernando Valley

About the role

Equinox, a luxury health, wellness and hospitality operator, is hiring an Assistant General Manager for its San Fernando Valley club (locations can vary between Pasadena and Westlake Village). The role works closely with the General Manager to run the club's operations, departments and customer service, and requires flexibility and willingness to relocate within the area.

Key responsibilities

• Influence and inspire a dynamic workforce.
• Interview, hire, train and manage the Front Desk, Maintenance and Kids' club departments to meet brand standards, help them develop schedules and stay within payroll budgets.
• Complete staff performance evaluations monthly and annually.
• Follow the monthly ordering timeline and supply budgets.
• Deliver a high level of customer service to club members.
• Support ancillary departments and sales with the General Manager, and be aware of monthly departmental goals and projections.
• Keep the club clean to company standards and ensure it follows Risk Management and Loss Prevention procedures, monitoring safety and security.
• Help facilitate other projects or responsibilities delegated by the General Manager.
• Be open to location reassignments and flexible schedules depending on business needs.

Required profile

• Proven leadership ability with 1-3 years of management experience in an operational management industry.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Physical ability to lift 25 pounds and move around the facility all day.

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High-touch customer service experience preferred.
• Effective time management and follow-up skills.
• Financial management experience.
