Assistant General Manager – Community Operations

About the role

Sentral is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager of its Santa Monica community. This in‑person role blends resident relations, leasing, basic bookkeeping, and facilities oversight to ensure a high‑quality living experience.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for residents and guests, handling inquiries, lease renewals, and retention initiatives.
• Collect rent, maintain accurate monthly commission sheets, and assist with month‑end accounting and financial reporting.
• Oversee maintenance and custodial teams, schedule service calls, and ensure safety compliance.
• Manage property viewings, evaluate applicants, negotiate contracts, and support leasing floor activities.
• Monitor online reviews, respond per policy, and coordinate resident and guest events.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• At least one year of customer‑service or apartment‑leasing experience, or a mix of accounting and service background.
• Strong attention to detail, decision‑making ability, and a positive, solution‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA certification within six months.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and email communication.
• Basic bookkeeping and accounting month‑end processes.
• Computer literacy for property‑management software and online review platforms.
