Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

About the role

Midtown, which operates eight luxury athletic clubs across the United States and Canada, is hiring an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for its Chromium café and food and beverage department in Rochester, NY. The role is full-time, five days a week including some weekends, and involves standing and staying active for long shifts of 8 to 10 hours.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and retention of staff, including corrective action, training and morale, and supervise staff for safety and cleanliness under Health Department regulations
• Create and implement a weekly schedule, delegate tasks, assist with employee evaluations and keep labor costs within budget
• Help manage budgeting, inventory, accounting and payroll, and monitor sales against revenue goals
• Keep members satisfied, act on guest feedback and handle complaints promptly

Required profile

• 1 to 3 years of management experience in a high-volume café or quick-service setting
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to stand and stay active for 8 to 10-hour shifts

Required skills

• Basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Reading and interpreting operational documents such as safety guidelines, procedures and recipes
