Assistant Editor

About the role

Airrack, a YouTube channel known for ambitious, innovative videos, is looking for an Assistant Editor to join its team on site when needed. The role sits in the post-production workflow and acts as the first point of contact for incoming media, bridging production, post-production and creative teams. It also functions partly as a media manager, handling ingestion, file organization and backups.

Key responsibilities

• Ingest media from production shoots and track updates on the inventory sheet
• Delegate and review tasks for Overseas Assistant Editors
• Maintain folder structures, back up assets and ensure they are named properly
• Give feedback to remote editors and troubleshoot issues quickly
• Write voiceover scripts and subtitles, using strong English comprehension
• Export and deliver audio STEMs for dubbing, and archive completed projects to the server

Required profile

• Attention to detail, clear communication and the ability to think ahead
• Genuine enthusiasm for working at a top YouTube brand
• Ability to work on site when the situation calls for it

Required skills

• Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder and Premiere Pro Productions
• Sync and conversion tools such as Syncaila and HandBrake
• Notion and Slack for team communication and task management
• Tools listed: Insta360 Studio, 4K Downloader Pro, OBS Studio, Parsec, Jellyfish
