Assistant Director – System Research Compliance

About the role

The Texas A&M University System Offices are seeking an Assistant Director to lead and supervise system‑wide research compliance and occupational health programs. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure that all research activities adhere to federal regulations, institutional policies, and best‑practice guidelines while supporting a network of 12 universities and affiliated entities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of research compliance and occupational health programs across the system.
• Develop, maintain, and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect evolving federal guidelines.
• Coordinate comprehensive review protocols and ensure accurate documentation of meetings and follow‑up actions.
• Provide strategic advice on compliance best practices and assist with incident investigations, corrective actions, and program audits.
• Disseminate biosafety knowledge through presentations, publications, and outreach materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing research compliance or occupational health programs within a higher‑education or research environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal research regulations and institutional policy implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead operational teams and drive continuous improvement.
