Assistant Director of Employer Engagement

About the role

The Assistant Director of Employer Engagement supports the Executive Director of Student Career Preparedness in building and executing strategies that connect employers with students and alumni at East Texas A&M University. This staff position plays a pivotal role in enhancing the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan and Strategic Plan by fostering meaningful employer partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage employers with campus recruiting activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage career fairs, networking events, on‑campus interviews, and recruitment partnerships.
• Serve as the primary liaison to ensure employers have a positive and efficient recruiting experience.
• Collaborate with university departments to align employer engagement initiatives with academic programs and student outcomes.
• Track and report on engagement metrics to support continuous improvement and strategic planning.

Required profile

• Experience in employer engagement, career services, or related higher‑education functions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to build and sustain external partnerships.
• Demonstrated capacity to organize large‑scale events and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of university strategic planning and quality enhancement processes.
