Assistant Buyer

About the role

The Assistant Buyer supports the buying team in selecting and procuring merchandise for direct‑to‑consumer channels. This role helps drive sales, volume, gross margin and turnover objectives for the alice + olivia brand and related accessories.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assortment buying for alice + olivia products on FarFetch, including order entry, inventory loads and markdowns.
• Oversee third‑party and owned accessories buying for retail stores and e‑commerce.
• Collaborate with the VP of Buying to source vintage accessories and curate monthly drops.
• Create style records for vintage items in the POS system and coordinate shipping to stores.
• Ensure accurate receipt of third‑party merchandise and reconcile invoices before finance approval.
• Support order entry for the VP and Director of Buying and track departmental receipt flows.
• Analyze sales trends, manage re‑orders and generate weekly selling reports with business recommendations.
• Participate in Open‑to‑Buy discussions and maintain proper markdown and promotion setup in the system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 1‑2 years of buying or merchandising experience.
• Strong analytical ability with knowledge of retail math.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
