Assembly & Test Technician I

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking an Assembly & Test (A&T) Technician I to join the team in the Buffalo, NY area. Reporting to the Sr. Operations Coordinator, you will work the 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm shift, Monday through Friday, performing hands‑on assembly and testing of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro‑mechanical components.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble valves, actuators, and systems using electrical and mechanical measuring instruments, assembly tools, and cleaning devices.
• Perform high‑reliability soldering and crimping of wires on complex sub‑assemblies and electronic/mechanical assemblies.
• Interpret drawings, worksheets, and parts lists to build and repair units.
• Diagnose and rework units that fail test requirements, applying product knowledge.
• Conduct repairs on production units and work on hydraulic stands for assembly functions.
• Execute defined testing procedures to verify product performance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand verbal, written, and computer instructions in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• At least one year of related experience in a technical field.

Required skills

• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro‑mechanical assembly.
• Soldering and crimping of wires.
• Use of electrical and mechanical measuring instruments.
• Reading technical drawings, worksheets, and parts lists.
• Diagnostic rework and testing procedures.
• Basic math and following detailed work instructions.
