NRTL Certification Manager

About the role

The NRTL Certification Manager leads the NRTL Product Safety Program for Bureau Veritas, coordinating with the Certification Director and global network. This remote position reports to the Director of Product Certification and requires flexible availability to support departmental projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business plans, budgets, KPIs, and strategic expansions for the certification program.
• Manage certification activities, including program development, external lab audits, client certification and withdrawal, and inspection coordination worldwide.
• Lead factory inspection and surveillance teams, approve reports, and oversee market sampling.
• Engage with internal and external customers, resolve complaints, promote certification services, and negotiate supplier and pricing agreements.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, accreditation bodies, and internal policies; create SOPs, price lists, and trademark registrations.

Required profile

• Minimum BS in a technical field (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in testing or certification of electrical products, including 3+ years in hazardous‑location testing.
• Proven leadership of diverse teams and direct interaction with customers and auditors.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Electrical engineering knowledge.
• Hazardous‑location testing and certification (ATEX, IECEx, NEC Article 500/505).
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NFPA 70 and IEC 60079 series.
• Quality assurance concepts and systems.
• Laboratory instrumentation and equipment related to certification evaluations.
