APS Intake Case Manager 3 – Adult Protective Services

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an APS Intake Case Manager 3 to serve as the Lead Worker for Adult Protective Services Central Intake. This position conducts initial investigations of protective service reports, evaluates risk, and coordinates interventions to safeguard vulnerable adults across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of reports that meet APS criteria and determine appropriate interventions.
• Assess the level of risk to clients and take timely actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resources to stabilize situations and prevent further abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete reports within established timeframes.
• Stay current on policies, laws, trends, and best practices through training and meetings.
• Assist intake supervisors with consultations, decision‑making, and policy clarifications.

Required profile

• Experience or background in adult protective services, social services, or related fields.
• Knowledge of state policies, laws, and regulations governing protective services.
• Ability to travel statewide on a regular basis.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate risk and determine appropriate actions.
