Applications Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Servo Valve team in the Buffalo, NY area. You will act as a trusted technical partner, helping industrial customers troubleshoot, optimize, and select the right products for complex hydraulic and motion‑control applications.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers using Moog servo valve solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve system‑level issues involving hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Recommend products and solutions that meet performance objectives and application requirements.
• Conduct on‑site assessments, system verification, and occasional valve tuning.
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements for proposals and business opportunities.
• Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• Five or more years of engineering experience in a technical, customer‑facing, applications, field service, or product support role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and ability to solve technical challenges independently.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20‑25% domestically.
