Application Security Analyst

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Application Security Analyst in Whippany, NJ, within its Chief Information Security Office. The analyst supports the delivery and continuous improvement of Application Security and DevSecOps capabilities, evaluating security findings, validating risk, supporting remediation and embedding security controls across the software development lifecycle. The role sits under the Assistant Vice President level.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate security findings, validate risk, support remediation and turn testing data into practical insights for engineering and security stakeholders.
• Help embed security controls across the software development lifecycle and support compliance with cyber governance requirements, policies and standards.
• Run SAST, SCA or DAST scans, triage and validate findings, investigate false positives, assess severity and exploitability, and work with developers to track remediation.
• Test APIs and understand common weaknesses in authentication, authorization, input validation, data exposure and business logic.
• Develop and run assessments, audits and threat models, and maintain reports and remediation guidance for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and IT teams on emerging attack techniques and on understanding security requirements and controls in business processes.

Required profile

• Experience running SAST, SCA or DAST scans and triaging findings.
• Knowledge of secure coding in at least one ecosystem such as Java/Spring.NET, Go, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Ability to use spreadsheets, query or reporting tools to identify trends, prioritise risk and produce metrics and dashboards.
• Valued: cyber governance knowledge, secure SDLC practices, software supply chain security, dependency risk, secrets scanning, SBOMs and vulnerability management.
• Valued: exposure to AI-assisted security testing and AI application security risks such as prompt injection and sensitive-data leakage.

What we offer

• Base salary of $125,000 to $170,000.
