Antarctic Terminal Operations (ATO) Shift Supervisor

About the role

Amentum is hiring an Antarctic Terminal Operations (ATO) Shift Supervisor to support cargo and passenger operations at multiple airfields in Antarctica. The role acts as a liaison between Amentum's work centers, agencies and Antarctica New Zealand personnel, coordinates transportation assets and equipment, and maintains control of the Movement Control Center (MCC) yards and airfields. It also supervises the Airfield Shift Supervisor, Load Planner and Air Transportation Specialist II.

Key responsibilities

• Support the SafeUp program and act as point of contact for passenger and cargo issues when other supervisors are absent
• Coordinate transportation assets, personnel support and equipment across airfields, and direct cargo and airfield personnel
• Evaluate employee performance during the season and oversee training for Load Planners and other cargo personnel
• Ensure aircraft pallets, load plans and hazardous material documentation meet quality standards
• Coordinate cargo priorities for outgoing flights with USAP Cargo, Cargo Coordinators and Fixed Wing personnel
• Plan and run daily/weekly safety meetings and maintain a safe workplace program
• Assist with safety/accident/incident reports and help troubleshoot cargo queries

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and at least two years of aviation/transportation experience, or four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
• At least two years of supervisory or leadership experience
• Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods, with medical, dental, drug screening, background checks and a US driver's license
• US citizenship required for facility credentials at this location
• Ability to lift and work outdoors in extreme cold

Required skills

• Airlift Mobility Command (AMC) Load Planner certification before deployment (training provided)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Preferred: knowledge of aircraft load plans, cargo securing and familiarity with MAXIMO and ICODES
