About the role

Protect Democracy is seeking a detail‑oriented fundraiser to manage a portfolio of about 300 mid‑level donors and expand it through grassroots and peer‑to‑peer programs. This remote, full‑time role supports the organization’s mission to protect democracy in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a donor portfolio, aiming to increase it to 500 donors by 2028.
• Write and distribute quarterly e‑newsletters and bi‑annual e‑appeals.
• Prepare grant proposals, reports, and donor correspondence reflecting Protect Democracy’s voice.
• Represent the organization in external donor meetings and conduct prospect research.
• Collaborate with the Partnerships team to set fundraising goals and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Three or more years of professional fundraising experience, including donor stewardship.
• Comfort with identifying, cultivating, and renewing 4‑5 figure gifts.
• Strong written communication and persuasive correspondence skills.
• Understanding of the political and philanthropic landscape in the U.S.

Required skills

• Proficiency with fundraising CRMs, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
• Ability to use data and automation tools to improve fundraising operations.

• Salary range $84,300‑$94,000 per year.
