Aircraft/Aerospace Sustainment Liaison Engineer

About the role

The Aviation Technology Associates team is seeking a Liaison Engineer to support line and heavy maintenance depot operations at U.S. Air Force bases. This remote position involves providing technical guidance, structural analysis, and on‑site engineering assistance for aircraft requiring repairs beyond standard limits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical dispositions, guidance, and structural analysis for aircraft issues exceeding published limits.
• Authorize work deviations, interpret service documents and Technical Orders, and recommend repair versus replacement options.
• Assist with aircraft system troubleshooting and attend production meetings to ensure timely support.
• Coordinate with the USAF Program Office on complex issues and monitor trends for corrective actions.
• Develop typical repairs, manual supplements, and author policies to ensure FAA compliance.

Required profile

• BS degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in a technical aerospace discipline.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 investigation for DoD contracts; existing security clearance preferred.

Required skills

• Structural analysis for repair substantiation.
• Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Investigative, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
