Aircraft Structural Mechanic – Full‑Time Contract

About the role

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is seeking an Aircraft Structural Mechanic to perform structural assembly, drilling, and riveting operations on aircraft components. The role is contract‑based for 12 months with the possibility of extension or direct hire.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, performing drilling and riveting according to blueprints, lofts, and work orders.
• Read and interpret 6" scale measurements, maintain logs (MIR sheets, DMTs, etc.), and ensure defect‑free assemblies before final inspection.
• Use jigs, fixtures, clamps, and pneumatic tools (riveting guns, drills, countersinks) to align and secure components.
• Perform repairs and rework per Discrepant Material Tags, Material Review Requests, and Production Change Orders.
• Support Lean initiatives, 5S program, and maintain a clean work area.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED with 1–6 years of related structural assembly experience.
• Valid driver’s license may be required; participation in DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and mentor less‑experienced team members.

Required skills

• Proficiency with portable and pneumatic riveting guns, drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, and reamers.
• Experience reading work orders, blueprints, lofts, and sketches.
• Familiarity with Solumina and Smarteam software (preferred).
• Knowledge of aircraft structures, sheet‑metal fabrication, and basic shop math.
