Aircraft Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) seeks an Aircraft Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing improvements, problem‑solving, and process optimization in a production or post‑production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical studies and analyses of existing or proposed manufacturing operations, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Author work instructions, DRDI/DMT rework instructions, and MBOM entries in SAP/Solumina/Corridor to ensure correct assembly and zero‑defect processes.
• Lead make‑or‑buy proposals, evaluate vendors, attend negotiations, and resolve vendor issues.
• Conduct productibility studies from engineering drawings, apply statistical methods, and generate data/reports for future manufacturing needs.
• Incorporate lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, lead/coordinate cross‑functional projects, and support safety, sustainability, and ergonomic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 18 months to 4 years of manufacturing engineering, planning, or related technical experience.
• Valid driver's license may be required; participation in DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP, Solumina, Corridor, CATIA, CADAM, and other computer‑aided design/manufacturing tools.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (5S, JIT, SMED, KanBan, VSM, One Piece Flow) and Six Sigma concepts.
• Experience authoring work instructions, MBOMs, and rework documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop math.

• Hourly rate $55.00–$62.00 based on experience and location.
