AI Security Engineer Specialist

About the role

The University of Miami Health System IT Department is seeking a full‑time AI Security Engineer Specialist to join the Security Operations Center at the Miller School of Medicine. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing AI‑driven workflows and agents to automate threat detection, streamline incident response, and boost overall security efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage Microsoft 365 Copilot and Security Copilot to automate documentation and support incident response.
• Develop and maintain AI prompts and workflows for threat hunting, incident triage, and compliance reporting.
• Integrate AI tools into daily SOC operations to improve analyst productivity and reduce response times.
• Design, implement, and manage AI‑based agents for real‑time alert enrichment, log analysis, and contextual threat intelligence.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts, engineers, and GRC teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Create dashboards and reports in Splunk and Azure Sentinel that reflect AI‑enhanced threat intelligence.
• Monitor and refine AI‑enhanced security processes, prompt strategies, and automation logic.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for AI‑integrated workflows and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong foundation in AI prompt engineering and cybersecurity operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a SOC environment and adhere to university policies.
