Advanced Practice Provider – Pediatric Inpatient Epilepsy Weekend Coverage

About the role

The Epilepsy Department at Cleveland Clinic is expanding its team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to support pediatric inpatient epilepsy care on weekends and an additional weekday. This position provides direct patient care in the Epilepsy Monitoring Units and offers a sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications in accordance with state licensure and clinic policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds, coordinate patient care, and ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families about epilepsy, treatment plans, and medication side effects.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP/PNP) or Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
• National certification for the respective role and basic life support certification (BLS). Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required based on the work setting.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program; MSN required within three years of hire for APRNs.

Required skills

• Ability to perform and interpret routine laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic studies as credentialed.
• Proficiency in documenting patient encounters and developing treatment plans.
