Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Outpatient Spine

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine Health seeks a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join an independent outpatient spine practice. You will evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic spinal conditions, collaborating closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess acute and chronic spine concerns, including post‑procedural patients, and develop treatment plans.
• Exercise autonomous medical decision‑making while consulting with staff physicians.
• Conduct comprehensive histories, physical exams, and order/interpret labs and imaging as needed.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and medication side effects.
• Participate in team rounds, referral coordination, and discharge planning.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (RN license required) or Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
• National certification for NP or PA and credentialing by Cleveland Clinic’s Medical Executive Committee.
• Basic Life Support certification; ACLS, PALS, or NRP as required by the work setting.
• MSN (or equivalent) for APRNs, or a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies for PAs.
• Strong clinical knowledge of spinal disorders; new graduates with spine interest are welcome.
