Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – General Neurology II

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute seeks a full‑time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant to provide independent neurological care. The role is based at the Main Campus with occasional coverage at regional hospitals and teleneurology sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients with new or established neurological disorders, develop and implement treatment plans.
• Exercise autonomous medical decision‑making while collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
• Counsel and educate patients and families about neurological conditions and therapies.
• Perform histories, physical examinations, order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within scope of licensure and Cleveland Clinic policies.

Required profile

• MSN from an accredited APRN program (or equivalent PA degree) – required at hire.
• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or RN (for NP) and national certification.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Pediatric Advanced Life Support may be required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Competence in performing and interpreting routine diagnostic procedures (lab, radiology, cardiographic).
