Advanced Practice Provider – Family Medicine

About the role

The Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA, or CNS) will deliver primary and specialty care within the Family Medicine department at Marymount Hospital. Working collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary team, the role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, and order/interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state licensure and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication side effects, and preventive health measures.
• Participate in medical team rounds, coordinate referrals, and ensure continuity of care across specialties.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and serve as a preceptor for students.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required within 3 years) or a certified Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist with national certification.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, or Advanced Trauma Life Support as applicable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) when required.
• Ability to perform and interpret common diagnostic procedures.
