Advanced Practice Provider – Emergency Department III PRN

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (FNP, PA, or CNS) to deliver primary and specialty care in the Emergency Department on a PRN basis.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests to establish diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in rounds, and ensure continuity of care through referrals and discharge planning.
• Perform credentialed procedures, prescribe and monitor medications as permitted, and educate patients on disease management and treatment side effects.
• Engage in quality monitoring, evidence‑based practice translation, and may assist with research, data collection, and precepting students.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required within 3 years of hire) or an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant program with a master’s degree.
• Current state licensure as an NP, PA, or CNS, national certification, and BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, NRP, or ATLS as required by the work setting.
• Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the hospital governing body.

Required skills

• Proficiency in performing and interpreting laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic, and other routine diagnostic procedures.
• Ability to use electronic medical record systems for documentation and care coordination.
• Competence in advanced life support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATLS) as applicable.
