Adjunct Faculty - PhD Clinical Psychology (Travel Required)

About the role

Walden University is looking for a part-time adjunct faculty member with a PhD in Clinical Psychology to teach online and blended courses. The position is remote but requires travel to Minneapolis, MN for the in-person component of the courses. Pay is quoted per quarter or semester.

Key responsibilities

• Teach primarily Blended Academic Year in Residence (BAYR) courses on Blackboard, with asynchronous discussion boards, grading, answering student questions and two synchronous sessions per quarter.
• Respond to student questions within 48 hours; teach the in-person portion of BAYR courses in Minneapolis for 7 days, about 4-5 hours per day.
• Take part in doctoral dissertation committees and advise students; attend university residencies for an additional stipend.
• Receive training in teaching, the learning platform, academic integrity (Turnitin) and research supervision, with support from core faculty.

Required profile

• Doctoral-level psychologist license and a doctorate in psychology or a closely related field.
• Significant record of contributions to psychology, including clinical, counseling or school psychology practice.
• Three to five years of degree-level teaching experience preferred; two years of online instruction and student research mentoring preferred.
• Preferred: expertise in psychodynamic, behavioral, gestalt and humanistic psychotherapy, and experience administering psychological assessments.
• Commitment to adult distance-learning students and willingness to travel for face-to-face instruction.

• Adequate computer, keyboard and monitor; Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, zip software and Adobe Acrobat.
• Reliable internet access and alternate access.

What we offer

• Pay of $1,560-$4,080 per quarter or semester for graduate courses, and $700-$2,200 per quarter for undergraduate courses.
• Additional stipend for residency teaching and for mentoring students.
