Adjunct Faculty – Commercial Truck Driving Instructor

About the role

Join Southern Crescent Technical College as an Adjunct Faculty member to teach the Commercial Truck Driving Licensing program. This part‑time position offers an opportunity to shape future professional drivers while working up to 29 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise students in commercial truck driving courses.
• Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
• Prepare lesson plans and evaluate student progress.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Ensure program certification requirements and safety standards are met.
• Prepare documentation, administrative reports, and maintain records.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and educators on instructional matters.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Required profile

• Current State of Georgia Department of Driver Services Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License.
• At least one year of experience as a commercial truck driver.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Preferred: Associate degree and three years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Good reputation in the truck‑driving community and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations.
• Familiarity with USDOT drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Computer skills for lesson planning and record keeping.

• Hourly compensation of $25 per hour.
