Librarian (Academic Library)

About the role

Join the State of Georgia’s education network as a Librarian supporting staff, faculty, and students at Southern Crescent Technical College. You will manage a comprehensive media center, ensuring seamless access to library resources and services.

Key responsibilities

• Catalog books and other materials using standard library practices.
• Supervise physical processing, acquisition, and circulation of library items.
• Provide technical support for library software and act as system administrator for automated library systems.
• Deliver reference, research, and interlibrary loan services to patrons.
• Compile usage reports and develop policies, procedures, and long‑term goals for the library.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA‑accredited institution.
• At least one year of cataloging experience (preferred).
• Experience in an academic library environment is a plus.

Required skills

• ALMA Administrator certification.
• Cataloging and classification using Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress systems.
• Proficiency with library management software.

• Salary range $43,000‑$53,000 per year.
