Adjunct Faculty – Driver's Education Instructor

About the role

The State of Georgia, through Southern Crescent Technical College, seeks a part‑time Driver's Education Instructor to teach and coordinate driver training programs at the Flint River and Griffin campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Assess student driving skills, knowledge, and progress, providing feedback to students and administration.
• Coordinate all aspects of the driver’s education program, including materials, equipment, space reservations, and compliance with grant and program guidelines.
• Instruct students on car control, defensive driving, emergency handling, and road safety in accordance with Joshua’s Law and Georgia DDS requirements.
• Manage classroom behavior to maintain a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Prepare and maintain teaching records, grades, attendance, and pass/fail reports.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and seminars to stay current with curriculum and regulatory updates.

Required profile

• Must obtain a Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) Certification within 30 days of employment, including fingerprint‑based background check.
• Valid Georgia Class C driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record; must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED; preferred 3+ years of driving and teaching experience.
• Successful completion of DDS online training and Driver Training Instructor examination.
