Adjunct Faculty - Bachelor of Social Work (Remote)

About the role

Walden University, a Covista institution serving adult learners across the U.S. and other countries, is hiring an adjunct faculty member to teach a Bachelor of Social Work program remotely. The role is part-time and involves delivering online courses through the university's Learning Management System, with discussion boards open 24/7.

Key responsibilities

• Provide course instruction, develop course content and carry out other curricular activities as needed
• Provide residency instruction and academic advising and mentoring
• Promote a social work professional identity with students
• Engage in scholarship and research supervision of theses and dissertations
• Be in the classroom at least 4 days per week and respond to student questions within 48 hours; regular online availability such as office hours is suggested
• Participate in online training, including assessment of academic integrity (e.g., Turnitin) and research supervision
• Attend optional residencies and contribute to university-wide discussions

Required profile

• Earned doctorate in Social Work, Human Services or a related field
• MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
• At least two years of post-graduate level practice experience
• Preferred: three to five years of undergraduate or graduate teaching experience and experience with distance education
• Licensed or license-eligible to teach in the relevant programs, with licenses maintained

What we offer

• Pay of $1,560-$4,080 per quarter or semester for graduate courses, and $700-$2,200 per quarter for undergraduate courses, depending on course type and length
