Adjunct EMT Instructor

About the role

Savannah Technical College seeks an hourly Adjunct EMT Instructor to teach both theory and practical skills at its Savannah and Hinesville campuses. The role involves delivering lectures, supervising clinical labs, and advising students to prepare them for EMT employment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver didactic and clinical EMT courses following the approved syllabus.
• Supervise students during patient care simulations and clinical rotations.
• Maintain grade books, attendance records, and equipment safety.
• Attend faculty meetings and stay current with EMT field trends.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of documented teaching experience (at least 40 hours per year) in an EMT course.
• Current NREMT certification and Georgia EMT/AEMT/Paramedic license.
• Level II EMS Instructor License.
• At least two years recent EMT/AEMT/Paramedic work experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support Instructor certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
• Experience with online learning platforms such as Blackboard.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between campuses.
