Accounting Operations Manager

About the role

The Accounting Operations Manager will support Nava’s full spectrum of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month‑end close, and state reporting compliance. Reporting to the Controller, this role ensures accurate financial records, GAAP and FAR compliance, and collaborates across contracts, people operations, finance, and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare recurring month‑end journal entries and reconcile assigned balance‑sheet accounts.
• Support month‑end closing schedule, review and post A/P and A/R invoices, cash receipts, and labor costs.
• Coordinate payroll processing, manage state filings, and ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Assist with audit documentation, internal controls, and development of accounting policies and SOPs.
• Serve as backup for A/P, A/R processing and resolve import errors between Paylocity and Unanet.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of accounting experience, preferably with government contracting and payroll.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and FAR requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
