About the role
The Accounting Manager ensures accurate and timely entry of all accounting data for the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts. This role supports the Finance Director and senior leadership in maintaining strong internal controls, reliable financial reporting, and audit readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness of accounting data in the State’s financial system.
- Record revenues, expenditures, and related transactions in compliance with accounting standards, state and federal regulations.
- Support the Finance Director with internal controls and audit preparation.
- Provide financial stewardship and ensure audit readiness for the department.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential or active CPA studies.
- Five years of progressive accounting experience, including 2‑3 years in governmental accounting.
Required skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced proficiency with the State Accounting Financial System.
- CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA qualification.
