Accountant – Hospitality Finance

About the role

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is seeking a motivated Accountant to join its finance team. You will work closely with the Credit Manager and other departments to ensure accurate billing, collections, and month‑end reporting for the resort’s hospitality operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inter‑departmental issues related to group and guest accounts.
• Prepare month‑end balance‑sheet reconciliations and assist with month‑end reporting.
• Generate group, catering and wedding invoices, process payments, and monitor accounts‑receivable aging.
• Prepare forecast vs. actual group commissions and communicate variances to the Director of Finance.
• Inspect in‑house accounts for compliance with the resort’s credit policy and support collection efforts.
• Participate in training activities and continuously improve knowledge and skills.
• Follow departmental and safety policies, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Hospitality, accounting or equivalent experience.
• University/College degree in a related discipline is an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering professional service.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with Opera PMS (property management system) is desirable.
