Account Executive - Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring an Account Executive for its Employee Health & Benefits team in Fort Lauderdale, in a hybrid position (2 days a week) that may require in-person client meetings. You will work closely with a Producer to develop strategy and support a book of client relationships, covering strategy, renewals, marketing, compliance, open enrollment, implementation, servicing and project management.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Producer to lead strategic management and client engagement, prepare annual planning timelines and set deadlines
• Stay up to date on benefit trends and regulations, and lead negotiations with vendors
• Support Account Managers and internal resources with quarterly meetings, financial reporting, renewal and marketing strategy, proposal reviews, contribution modeling and budget scenarios, and agency management system updates
• Take a more active role in renewals and marketing for complex lines such as ASO, Stop Loss and Disability, and handle multi-state complex clients
• Handle escalated service inquiries and ensure client compliance through audits, testing and affordability calculations
• Review presentations for accuracy before delivery to the Producer and build positive client relationships with HR, finance, decision-makers and C-suite executives

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active, current Florida 2-15 insurance license
• 10+ years of experience in the health insurance industry; agency experience preferred
• Experience with mid-size carriers and self-funded accounts
• Plus: Bachelor's degree or higher, HIA or CEBS designation, bilingual English/Spanish
