Academic Visitor (CW Pharmacology)

About the role

The CW Academic Visitor position is a short‑term, on‑site opportunity for undergraduate students to join the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program within the Department of Pharmacology at UAMS. Selected students will work closely with faculty mentors on research projects during the summer term.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a faculty‑guided research project as part of the SURF program.
• Attend weekly lab meetings, seminars, and safety trainings.
• Collect, analyze, and document experimental data.
• Prepare and present a final report or poster summarizing findings.
• Comply with all university health and safety policies, including COVID‑19 vaccination requirements.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program.
• Acceptance by a faculty member to participate in the SURF program.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Proof of full COVID‑19 vaccination or an approved exemption.
