2-Year Postdoctoral Researcher (Agricultural Economics)

About the role

This grant‑funded, non‑tenure‑track appointment supports the Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness department at LSU. Over two years, the postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with Dr. Raghav Goyal on projects related to agricultural trade, climate impacts, and supply‑chain resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and clean large agricultural, trade, and geospatial datasets.
• Conduct econometric analyses, including panel data, gravity models, and causal inference techniques.
• Co‑author research papers and present findings at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Mentor and guide research assistants and other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising faculty member.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics, Economics, or a closely related field, completed by July 2026.
• Strong theoretical and empirical research abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for presenting research.
• Research interest in international/domestic agricultural trade, climate impacts, or supply‑chain resilience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R and/or Python for data processing and econometric analysis.
• SQL for database management and querying.
• Experience with ArcGIS or similar geospatial tools.
• Familiarity with high‑dimensional data analysis and supercomputing environments.
