About the role

ACCEL Schools is seeking a passionate 1st Grade Teacher for Cornerstone Academy in Westerville, Ohio for the 2026‑2027 school year. You will join a high‑performing charter school that emphasizes art, music, STEM, and social‑emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and adapt lesson plans throughout the year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
• Apply research‑based best practices in daily instruction.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
• Utilize school‑approved curricula that reflect cultural and linguistic diversity.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Integrate technology tools to support student learning.
• Participate in non‑instructional activities and collaborate with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfort with a growth‑focused coaching environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Experience supervising students in various settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
• Clear federal and state background check.
• Experience working in an urban school environment.
