1st Grade Teacher – Dayton Elementary (2026/27)

About the role

The Lyon County School District is seeking a dedicated 1st Grade Teacher for Dayton Elementary for the 2026/27 school year. The teacher will deliver curriculum aligned with Nevada Academic Content State Standards and foster a supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement district curriculum aligned with Nevada State Standards and upcoming Common Core.
• Create a respectful, positive, and academically focused classroom atmosphere.
• Develop and deliver lessons using the LCSD lesson‑plan template.
• Analyze student progress, provide individualized instruction, and maintain accurate records in Infinite Campus.
• Ensure compliance with IEPs, assessment regulations, and special services mandates.
• Manage classroom discipline and safety, and contribute to the School Performance Plan.
• Integrate technology into instructional programs and collaborate with staff, parents, and the community.

Required profile

• Valid teaching license for Nevada elementary education.
• Ability to deliver instruction in an elementary classroom and adapt methods to diverse learners.
• Strong collaboration skills with students, parents, peers, and administrators.
• Commitment to professional development and adherence to district policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Infinite Campus student information system.
